Masterworks Chorale

2010/2011 Season
 

The Summit Choral Society holds auditions for the adult Masterworks Chorale periodically throughout the year.  All voice parts are generally sought.  Auditions are held by appointment only at Steinway Hall.  Morning, afternoon and evening appointments are available.  Steinway Hall is located at 715 East Buchtel Avenue, near The University of Akron campus.  Please call the Summit Choral Society office at 330-434-SING (7464) to schedule an audition appointment.

Founding Artistic Director, Dr. Frank Jacobs, carefully listens to each prospective singer's range and voice quality while assessing their musicianship and music reading abilities.  Prior experience singing classical choral literature is not necessarily a prerequisite but is always helpful.

Weekly rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at Fairlawn-West United Church of Christ on West Market Street.  Free babysitting is made available during all rehearsals.

The Masterworks Chorale's 2010-2011 season includes six self-produced concerts taking place in October, December and April.

The Summit Choral Society and its adult ensemble Masterworks Chorale continue to provide the greater Akron area with performances of the great masterworks of choral literature in many musical styles and from many style periods.
